Located in Denver’s Platt Park neighborhood, this historic home originally built in 1888 was reimagined to bring light and openness into a once segmented layout. The renovation responded to the homeowners’ desire for a more modern and connected main floor suited for hosting and everyday living.
Prior to renovation, the kitchen, dining room, and living room were separated and lacked natural light. Structural modifications were made to open key interior walls and create continuity between spaces while respecting the home’s historic character. A new glass patio door was introduced to flood the interior with daylight and strengthen the connection to the outdoors.
Material selections focused on brightness and warmth, supporting a modern interpretation of classic architectural elements. The result is a home that feels open and welcoming while preserving the charm and integrity of its original design.
